Cherry Pie

This recipe is from the back of the label form the Oregon Red Tart Pie Cherries.  The men in my family love it!

Cherry Pie

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 T corn starch
  • 2 cans (16oz.) Oregon Red Tart Pie Cherries
  • ¾ cup juice from cherries
  • ¼ tsp. almond extract (for Z, I put in at least 1tsp.)
  • 1 T. butter

Combine ½ the sugar with the cornstarch in saucepan.  Stir in juice.  Cook on medium heat until thick and bubbly, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and stir in remaining sugar and ingredients.  Pour into crust.  Bake at 400º for 50 minutes.
