This is a combination of a recipe and wingin’ it:

  • sugar and cinnamon to sweeten the apples
    Topping

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups butter

Preheat oven to 350º

Peel and slice the apples.  Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over the apples and stir to coat.  Pour the apples into a buttered 9×13 in. baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, oatmeal, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. Cut butter into mixture until crumbly.  Distribute over the apples.

Bake at 350º for 45 to 50 minutes or until apples are tender.
